30 cited, 4 arrested during 'Unofficial Halloween' in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Four people were arrested and at least people were 30 cited for several separate violations this past weekend during "Unofficial Halloween."

Across Twitter, Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) students are calling this past weekend "Unofficial Halloween."

Thirty people were issued citations and at least one was arrested by Southern Illinois University Campus Police this weekend, according to SIUC's Department of Public Safety daily crime log.

At least three people were arrested after a crowd flipped a car on its roof early Sunday morning, according to Sergeant Cory Kemp of the Carbondale Police Department.

Three SIUC students have been suspended from the University pending an investigation of a sexual assault reported Sunday.

Several arrests were made for battery and domestic battery.

Other incidents ranged from underage consumption and possession of alcohol and illegal possession of marijuana, to public urination, burglary and criminal trespassing.
