Semi crashes spilling frozen food in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

State police say a tractor trailer crashed on a southern Illinois exit ramp on Sunday causing it to spill frozen food.

It happened shortly before 6:10 a.m. on Interstate 57 southbound at mile marker 45 in Williamson County.

According to Illinois state police, the semi was in the southbound right line when a car in the left lane crossed into it's path to exit the road.

The semi had to veer into the exit ramp.

The semi's driver lost control of the rig before it ended on its right side.

The semi-trailer load with boxes of frozen food, burst open spilling the load.

The semi's driver and two passengers were taken to the Heartland Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The tractor trailer was towed from the scene and the load was cleaned up.
