CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Warren E. Hearnes Elementary and Charleston Middle Schools library received a $4,000 grant for new books.

The school district applied and received a School Nonfiction Collection Development Grant to help provide the schools libraries.

The grant money was used on student-oriented nonfiction Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics books, which is required for this grant.

"This helps us provide more resourceful libraries for our students," said CMS Librarian Michelle Anthuis, who wrote the proposal and grant.

"We are greatly appreciative of this funding, and the money was shared with the elementary school library, overseen by Hearnes Librarian Ms. Janet Bader," Anthuis said.
