Realtors put safety first after murder

MARION, IL (KFVS) - Due to safety concerns, southern Illinois realtors are adopting a safety plan for their agents.

It's in response to the death of an Arkansas realtor, Beverly Carter.

Carter was murdered on the job in October. Now realtors are thinking about safety.

According to the Egyptian Board of Realtors, they will now be asking for a photo ID before showing property.

The board has 450 members in 27 Illinois counties.

Realtors say the public may see a "dramatic shift in the way all realtors do business."
