MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - A Murray man is facing 13 counts of theft and one count of falsely reporting an incident after breaking into a car last month, according to the Murray Police Department.
On Tuesday, Sept. 23, police got a call about a vehicle break-in near Fifth and Elm Streets. Gerald Ellsworth, 37, said that someone had broken a window out of his vehicle.
Police say it was determined that Ellsworth had locked himself out of the vehicle while committing a theft and broke the window to get back into the vehicle. Police also discovered that the vehicle matched one related to the theft of a golf cart battery at David Taylor Chrysler on North Twelfth Street.
The investigation revealed Ellsworth had also committed several other crimes at area businesses, according to the Murray Police Department.
