(CAPE GIRARDEAU) - Now in it's fifth year, the Vintage Now fashion show takes place Friday October 17th at the Osage Center in Cape Girardeau.
The message: Women of all walks of life standing together on the where clothing with a past meets the runway to spread a message that domestic violence can be stoppped.
The event benefits the Safe House for Women in Cape Girardeau. Organizers say it's not just about raising money but awareness. Tonight's speakers, Delores McDowell Says she's proof the cycle of violence can be stopped.
"On you get out of situations you actually have to rebuild your spirit because more than anything else physical scars that are left behind as well as emotional damage but if you rebuild on truth you will shine," said McDowell. "The best part of my story my husband now is a total prince. Love doesn't have to hurt."
The doors open at six with food and fun. It all happens at the Osage Center in Cape Girardeau.
