Possom Trot woman accused of drug trafficking near elementary school

REIDLAND, KY (KFVS) -

Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department say a western Kentucky woman faces charges after a drug related search Thursday at a Reidland, Kentucky apartment.

Leighann Ahfield, 20, of Lawson-Johnson Road in Possum Trot, Kentucky, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (marijuana) within 1000 feet of a school.

Richard Martin, 24, of Benton Road in Paducah, Kentucky, was charged with probation violation.

Susan Moss, 41, of Benton Road in Paducah, Kentucky, was cited for possession of marijuana.

According to the sheriff's office, detectives got information Thursday that a drug-deal would be taking place on the parking lot of a McCracken County business in Reidland.

Detectives say they saw Leighann Ahfield on the parking lot of a business on Benton Road delivering marijuana.

The business is right across from Reidland Elementary School.

Leighann Ahfield and two others were later found in the 6700 block of Benton Road in McCracken County.

Detectives rreceived permission for a search warrant to look over the apartment.

Detectives say they seized more marijuana along with money believed to be from illegal drug sales during the search.

Marshall County Sheriff Detectives searched Ahfield's Marshall County home and seized a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The McCracken Co. Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, and officers with the Kentucky Department of Probation and Parole.
