Dyersburg man accused of shooting another man in the shoulder

DYERSBURG, TN (KFVS) -

A Dyersburg, Tennessee man is accused of shooting another man in the shoulder after an argument.

Donnie Ham, 66, was charged with attempted murder. He was taken to the Dyer County Jail where he was processed and held pending a court appearance on Friday, Oct. 17 at 9 a.m.

According to the Dyersburg Police Department, on Tuesday, Oct. 14 around 8:09 p.m., they were dispatched to the 200 block of High Avenue for a complaint of shots fired.

While on the call, police say dispatch received another call stating that a person had been shot.

Police say they arrived at the scene and found Vincent Thomas, 56, standing near the street on High Ave. They say he was bleeding from his left shoulder.

According to police, Thomas got into an argument with Ham over some repairs made to a vehicle. During a struggle between the two, police say Ham shot Thomas one time in the shoulder.

Thomas was taken to a Dyersburg hospital and then transferred to a Memphis hospital.
