MINER, MO (KFVS) -

The Miner Police Department is searching for the driver of a reportedly stolen truck and trailer who led them on a chase on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at about 11:30 p.m.

According to police, an officer was patrolling the neighborhood in the area of David Lane and noticed a dually truck that was pulling a box-style trailer.

The officer recognized the trailer and believed that it had been stolen from a home on David Lane.

Police say the officer tried to stop the vehicle to investigate, but the vehicle took off.

They say the chase went north on David Lane and then east on U.S. Highway 62. Officers chased the vehicle into Bertrand where they say the vehicle stopped and the driver ran away.

According to police, the driver was not found and they continue to investigate.

They say the dually truck was reported as stolen from Charleston, Mo., and the trailer was recovered and returned back to the owners that lived on David Lane.
