Dog goes missing after house fire in Scott City

SCOTT CITY, MO (KFVS) - Firefighters responded to a fire in Scott City Wednesday morning.

It happened at 903 Oak Street.

The homeowner was asleep in a back bedroom. She had gotten up to go to work, left the bedroom, and heard the smoke detector in the kitchen. She called 911. The fire may have started behind a TV set in the living room.

The husband and wife and pets got out the back door without any injuries.

However, a boxer with eight puppies has gone missing. The mother dog ran away from home. The black boxer has a white spot in its chest. Anyone who sees the dog is asked to the call the Scott City police or fire departments.

The house has smoke and water damage. The home was insured.
