Carbondale police investigating home burglary

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

The Carbondale Police Department is investigating a home burglary in the 600 block of South Glenview.

According to police, they responded to the home at about 5:17 a.m. on Oct. 2.

They learned the homeowner awoke from noises coming from inside the home and found an unknown man.

The homeowner confronted the man who then ran from the home.

The suspect is described as a black man, 6'1" and about 164 pounds. He had braided hair and was wearing a black shirt and black pants.

Police say the homeowner  was not injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 618-457-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS (2677). Anonymous tips can also be made by selecting the "Crime Stoppers" tab on the police department website.
