Union Co. clerk: Mailing issues with voter registration forms

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The Union County Clerk Terry Bartruff is reminding residents to check the mailing address on voter registration forms.

"If you are mailing in a registration form you've gotten from somewhere other than the County Clerk's office, make sure it's addressed to room 116<' Bartruff explained. "If the address or even just the room number is wrong, sometimes the mail gets returned to sender before it gets to us. We have no way of knowing when this has happened since we don't receive anything."

The correct mailing address for the Union County Clerk's office and the one on file with the Illinois State Board of Election is:

Union County Clerk
309 West Market
Room 116
Jonesboro, IL 62952

Bartruff recommends any Union County residents who have registered by mail to stop by the County Clerk's Office or call 618-833-5711 to verify their registration status.
