CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Cape Girardeau Police are investigating an armed robbery at the McDonald's on Broadway Street early Monday morning.

It happened around 3:15 a.m., according to Cape Girardeau Police Officer Templeton, and an undisclosed amount of money was taken by a male suspect.

Police say the suspect, Otha Don Watkins III, 32, is in custody and they are still investigating to see if anyone else may have been involved.

Watkins is facing possible charges of robbery and armed criminal action.

Police had closed the lobby so that no one could enter the building after the incident, but it is currently back open.
