3 injured in crash that closed Hwy. 61 in Perry Co., MO Saturday

PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Three people were injured, two seriously, in a crash that closed Highway 61 in Perry County, Missouri for a time Saturday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 5 a.m. at County Road 300 when 78-year-old Bertha F. Hughey of Frohna crossed the center line and hit a car driven by 22-year-old Paige A. Meyer of Perryville.

Meyer's car ran off the left side of the road and Hughey then hit a second car driven by Vencen H. Bumann, 44, of Jackson causing him to run off the right side of the road.

Hughey and Bumann were both seriously injured and flown to St. Louis hospitals.

Meyer suffered minor injuries and was taken to Perry County Memorial Hospital.
