Paducah man accused of making meth a block from police department

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A Paducah, Kentucky man has been accused of making methamphetamine a block from the Paducah Police Department.

Ian M. Freitag, 21, of Jefferson Street, was arrested on charges of manufacturing meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to police, on Wednesday morning, Oct. 1, the Drug and Vice Enforcement Unit received information that Freitag was allegedly making the drug at his home in the 1300 block of Jefferson Street.

Police say they gathered enough evidence for an arrest warrant and searched the home early on Wednesday morning.

They say they found an active meth lab in the backyard and a backpack in Freitag's closet that contained ingredients for the drug.

Also in his bedroom, police day they found a marijuana pipe and several syringes that Freitag admitted using to inject meth.

Freitag was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
