MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) -

Three Graves County, Kentucky residents, along with a Clinton, Ky. resident, were arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 1 on various drug charges in the city of Mayfield.

Amee Requena, 41, of Clinton, Ky., was charged with trafficking a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for failure to use a turn signal.

Darrius Hunt, 27, of Mayfield, Ky., was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Kyle Franklin, 26, of Mayfield, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and endangering the welfare of a minor.

David J. Houston, 27, of Mayfield, was charged with complicity to traffic in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, complicity to possession of drug paraphernalia, complicity to tampering with physical evidence and complicity to endangering the welfare of a minor.

According to Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon, detectives with the drug unit stopped a 2005 Dodge at the corner of S. 14th Street and W. South Street for failing to use a turn signal on N. 15th Street.

They say the driver, Requena, refused consent for them to search her vehicle.

Officers requested the assistance of the Mayfield Police Department's K-9 Cane. When they arrived on scene, officers say Requena told them she had a small amount of marijuana in her vehicle.

They say she took ownership of it because she did not want her passengers to be charged with anything.

After getting her consent, officers say they then retrieved about a quarter of a pound of marijuana from the console.

According to officers, they asked passenger Hunt to step out of the vehicle. They say during a routine pat down of him they found a small bag of suspected marijuana and $25 in cash fell out from the bottom of his pants.

After interviewing other passengers, Mayfield police officers went to a home on Lochridge and knocked on the door. They say they met with two men, Houston and Franklin.

Officers say they asked for permission to search the home for any illegal contraband and Houston told them to come in and search.

During the search, officers say they found two 40 caliber handguns, about 1 gram of marijuana and $430 in cash.

They say they also found about 1 pound, 9 ounces or more of marijuana and a set of digital scales.

Officers say there was a small child at the home.
