Former Mt. Vernon fire chief dies after motorcycle crash

MT. VERNON, IL (KFVS) -

A former Mount Vernon, Illinois fire chief passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28 from injuries he received in a motorcycle crash.

The City of Mt. Vernon said on Facebook they are saddened to learn of the death of Brent Hahn. He was 63 and belonged to the MVFD for 28 years.

They say Hahn served as chief from 2003 to 2007.

His father, Don Hahn, served as chief from 1978 to 1987.
