POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - Hundreds of women gathered in Poplar Bluff on Thursday, Sept. 25 for the 27th Annual Women Aware Conference.
Attendees could listen to the keynote speaker as well as individual break-out sessions on topics ranging from: steps to starting a small business, decorating for the holidays on a budget and a behind the scenes look at our own Does It Work franchise.
Rozetta Little, conference director, said the purpose is for southeast Missouri women to be able to network with each other and share their own experiences.
"It's important for women to talk, we do like to talk, and we need to talk to each other, and we need to make friends with other people that are in key role positions," Little said.
"You're interacting with people from your local community, it's not like going out of town and seeing people you may never see again," said Board Member Janet McNece. "It's someone that you may work across the street from, it's someone that you may interact with on a regular basis, so it's just having that time to get to know that person better."
The price of the conference admission also gives you a year membership to the Women Aware group aimed at empowering women.
