Southeast president search firm to hold open forums

The Board of Regents has secured "a leading global executive search firm" to help find the next president of Southeast Missouri State University.

According to a news release the Board of Regents will use Parker Executive Search. Members will be in Cape Girardeau Oct. 1-3 to meet with faculty and staff, students, alumni and community members.

Southeast says there will be three open forums on the Southeast campus Wednesday, Oct. 1:

One for Southeast faculty and staff members from 1-1:45 p.m.

One for students from 3-3:45 p.m.

And, one for members of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation and Redhawks Club, alumni and community members from 4-4:45 p.m.

All meetings will be held in the University Center Heritage Room.

The forums will gather input on areas such as recent successes, challenges and opportunities at Southeast.

Those who can't participate in an open forum can send an email to the Presidential Search and Screening Advisory Committee at Nominations for candidates may also be sent to that email address.

President Kenneth W. Dobbins announced Sept. 8 that he would retire in June, 2015.
