HAMILTON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A Collinsville man has been sentenced after five people were killed in a rollover crash in Hamilton County, Illinois in November 2013.

Darrell Delong was sentenced to 20 years in prison and two years of parole.

He was charged with five counts of aggravated driving under the influence and one count of reckless homicide.

Justin Hood, the Hamilton County State's Attorney, said he is satisfied with the sentence handed down by the judge on Tuesday.

"It is fair and reasonable sentence for this type of crime," Hood said. " These are the type of crimes we want to prevent here in Hamilton County and throughout Illinois."

He said he hopes the outcome of the case gives people pause before they drive or allow a friend or family member to drive home when they have had too much to drink.
