Man airlifted after motorcycle crash in Calloway County

Shortly before 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Calloway County sheriff's deputies received a report of a motor vehicle collision with possible injuries on State Route 121 south near the Clarks River Bridge.

Murray Calloway County EMS, Murray Fire Department Rescue, Calloway County Fire Rescue was dispatched along with Law Enforcement.

First units on scene advised that the collision was actually at the intersection of State Route 121 South and Murray Paris Road.

Investigators say Jamie Williams, 32, of Murray was southbound on State Route 121 South when the vehicle in front of him went to make a right hand turn onto Murray Paris Road.

Williams went around the vehicle as it was turning and crossing into the path of Norma Whitesell, 62, of Murray.

Whitesell was northbound on State Route 121 South. Upon impact, William was thrown from his motorcycle receiving numerous injuries.

Whitesell's vehicle continued northbound until it went off the opposite shoulder of the road and hit a pole before coming to rest.

She had to be extricated from her vehicle by Murray Fire Department Rescue.

Both were transported to Murray Calloway County Hospital emergency room for their injuries.

Williams was later airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical center for further treatment. Kentucky State Police also assisted with this incident.
