FL suspect in 'loud music' murder case appears in court

JACKSONVILLE, FL (WJXT/CNN) – The man accused of killing a Florida teen in a dispute over loud music appeared briefly Monday in a Jacksonville, FL court.

In November 2012, Michael Dunn fired into a SUV filled with teenagers, and killed 17-year-old Jordan Davis.

Dunn said it was self-defense because he thought they were armed, but no weapon was found inside the vehicle.

Dunn was convicted of three counts of attempted second-degree murder earlier this year.

A mistrial was declared on the murder charge when the jury couldn’t agree on a verdict.

Dunn’s second trial on the murder charge begins on Sept. 22.
