PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Paducah police are asking for the public's help in identifying two women suspected of using stolen credit and debit cards to buy pre-loaded credit cards.

The two suspects are described as African American, one with a pierced nose and wearing black scrub pants and a red scrub top. The other was wearing pink scrubs.

According to police, a Calvert City woman called police just after 4 p.m. on Thursday to report that someone had stolen her debit card and charged more than $1,500 on it.

At 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, police say a woman from Farmington, Ky. called police to report a similar crime.

The woman told officers two women came into her office at Baptist Health Paducah shortly after 4 p.m., and one distracted office staff while the other apparently took a credit card and a debit card from her desk.

Less than an hour later, at 4:54 p.m. on Thursday, the woman said she received a telephone call from her credit card company in reference to possible fraudulent activity on her account. It was then that she called police.

An officer reported the woman's credit and debit cards were used to make nine transactions totaling more than $4,500. All of the pre-loaded MasterCard purchases were made at the Walmart Supercenter on Hinkleville Road.

Recognizing the similarity between the incidents, police re-contacted the Calvert City woman and described the second time. The woman said she recalled two women wearing scrubs coming into her place of employment in the West Park area near Olivet Church Road and U.S. 60.

She said one of the women kept her occupied in one part of the store while the other apparently took her debit card.
