GAZA CITY, GAZA (CBS) - Two Israeli missiles struck a beach house near Gaza City on Monday killing one person and leaving up to 20 people missing, the Red Crescent and a Gaza health official said.

The airstrike happened shortly after another cease-fire went into effect at 10 a.m. local time.

The seven-hour truce, announced by Israel, was meant to open a "humanitarian window" for aid as Israeli forces draw down ground operations in the coastal territory.

An 8-year-old was killed in the strike on the beach house, according to a Gaza health official.

The Israeli military had no immediate comment on the strike.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said the group said Israel was "not interested in a real cease-fire" and their aim was "just to fool the media and to cover up the extent of the Israeli massacres."

Even though Israel has been drawing down its ground operation since the weekend, it has kept up heavy aerial, offshore and artillery bombardments of the Strip.

Awni Abu Hatab, a local resident, said, "Israel doesn't respect a lull or a cease-fire. It's the same story of one treacherous event after the other. At 10:10 a.m. it (Israel) had already hit a home. It destroyed an entire area and everything around it. It was destroyed on top of the heads of the inhabitants. They were eating and drinking and it collapsed on them. The rescue teams are working even until now. The martyrs and injured are still under the rubble."

The Gaza war, now in its fourth week, has killed more than 1,800 Palestinians and more than 60 Israelis.
