KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Some people may think Darlene Ford is a little nuts for getting in line three days early to try and see President Barack Obama speak.

The White House said Obama will arrive in Kansas City on Tuesday evening and is scheduled to talk about the economy Wednesday morning at the Uptown Theatre.

The speaking event in Midtown is open to the public, but free tickets will be handed out to the public Monday morning.

Ford got in line at 9 a.m. Sunday for a ticket and says she would have come Saturday night if her husband hadn't stopped her first.

The 45-year-old Kansas City woman just sees it as a chance of a lifetime.

"I'm crazy," Ford said. "Last time I got to see him, he was a little blip. Even with binoculars we couldn't see him very well. So I just wanted to make sure that I was in line to get a ticket."

However, she thinks it is crazy nobody else got in line before she did to try and get one.

"We really thought that we would not be the first in line," she said.

But it wasn't long before she wasn't the only one in line. Not long after Ford came, she was joined by Phyllis Manley.

"I'm No. 2, so we're on the same mind link. That is a good thing," Manley said.

They both shrug off people who think the two of them are out of their minds.

"Everybody's got their opinion. They might think it is crazy. I think it is a great opportunity," Manley said.

The last time Obama visited the Kansas City area was in September, when he spoke at the Ford plant in Claycomo.
