STOCKTON, CA (KCRA/CNN) – The surviving suspect of a deadly bank robbery in California last week is now facing murder charges.
Jaime Ramos, 19, faces 35 felony counts, including kidnapping and carjacking in a robbery and shootout with police.
Two of Ramos’ accomplices died in that shooting.
Police say the three men robbed the bank and held six people hostage. Then they took off in a bank employee’s SUV. Authorities say Ramos used a woman as a human shield. Her body was later found in the get-a-way vehicle.
Two other hostages were injured after they were thrown or jumped from the moving vehicle.
If convicted, Ramos could be sentenced to death.
