LOS ANGELES (CNN) – Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling says he’s opposing the sale of the team because he was working on a deal which would have made him millions.
Sterling was in court Tuesday trying to block his estranged wife, Shelly, from selling the NBA franchise.
Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has offered $2 billion, but Sterling testified that he was negotiating a big broadcast deal with FOX which would be worth more.
He argued the Los Angeles Lakers recently struck a TV deal for a reported $3 billion.
After an audio recording of Sterling making racially-charged comments, the NBA ordered Donald and Shelly Sterling to sell the team.
