CLEBURNE, TX (WWBT) -

A 19-year-old college cheerleader and big game hunter is facing the wrath of animal rights advocates.

Kendall Jones has more than 15,000 fans on her Facebook page where she talks about her adventures hunting White Rhino, elephant and impala in Africa and aspires to become a TV show host.

However, more than 45,000 people have signed a petition asking Facebook to remove the page.

Jones grew up in Cleburne, Texas on the outskirts of Dallas and grew up hunting in Africa with her father. At age 13 she shot a white rhino, impala, kudu and mountain redbuck in South Africa, she writes on her Facebook page. Since then she says she has shot elephant, buffalo lion, leopard, and hippo.

Jones mentions conservation on her page and talks about delivering candy, coloring books and soccer balls to underprivileged children.

The Texas Tech sophomore majors in Marketing and Sports Therapy, while also cheerleading and says she will be featured in a new show on the Sportsman Channel next year.

However, animal rights advocates are asking Facebook to take the page down, "for the sake of all animals, especially the animals in the African region... where hunters are going for fun just to kill an animal!"

The petition claims people reporting the pages have not been able to get a response from Facebook. The number of signatures began rising quickly when Buzzfeed wrote an article about Jones, as did the number of likes she received on her page.

New federal regulations have changed what many kids who attend public schools eat for lunch at school. However, some area private schools don't have to follow those rules and have come up with their own new school lunch program.
