PORTSMOUTH, VA (WWBT) -

A Naval officer suspected of stabbing another man near Naval Medical Center Portsmouth on Friday morning is now in custody.

A phone led police to Wilbur Harwell, who was arrested near the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

The stabbing put the Navy installation on a partial lockdown, as officials searching for the suspect.

The Navy says the stabbing occurred Friday during an argument between two service members outside the Navy Exchange at Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, Portsmouth Annex. The installation is home to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.

Capt. Michael "Jake" Johansson, commanding officer of Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, says the victim suffered critical injuries. The victim hasn't been identified.

The annex is home to the nation's first naval medical center.
