DYERSBURG, TN -

(WMC-TV) - The body found in Dyer County Tuesday is confirmed to be that of Curtis Tyler, who was reported missing in 2012.

Dyersburg Police Department obtained dental records Thursday that positively identified Tyler. His body was found by a turkey hunter in the area of the Forked Deer River.

On June 30, 2012, Tyler left his grandmother's house to spend time with friends. That was the last time he was seen.

"I wish it hadn't happened," said Curtis' grandmother, Judy Hutching. "I wish he was still here, but I can't bring him back."

When Curtis first disappeared, his father told WMC Action News 5 that his son joined the Aryan Nation before getting out of jail in March 2012. Police were never able to prove that connection.

"It's no words that could express the pain of someone missing and hearing 100 horrifying stories," said his sister, Amanda.

Now that Tyler has been positively identified, Amanda hopes police will work swiftly to find the person(s) responsible for his death.
