(WMC-TV) - Investigators say the man suspected of murdering missing nursing student Holly Bobo attempted to coerce his own brother while in jail.

"Tell my brother he is the one [who] started this s---, and if he don't shut his mouth he will be in the hole besides (sic) her," Zachary Adams reportedly told an inmate at Chester County Jail.

According to a Court of Decatur County affidavit, Adams asked an inmate transferring to Obion County to relay his message to his brother, who is currently locked up in that jail.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced Tuesday that Adams received an additional charge, which is a single count of coercion of a witness. He remains in Chester County Jail without bond.

"We will not tolerate any kind of coercion in criminal cases," said TBI Director Mark Gwyn in a written statement. "But in a case like this, which has attracted so much interest and required so many resources, rest assured we will fight hard to protect the integrity of our work, as we see justice for the family and friends of Holly Bobo."

A Decatur County Grand Jury charged Adams March 5 with first-degree murder and especially aggravated kidnapping in connection to the disappearance and murder of Bobo.

Holly Bobo went missing April 13, 2011. She was last seen by her brother being led into the woods by a man wearing camouflage.
