PORT WENTWORTH, GA (WTOC) -

The story of a Port Wentworth mother's unique punishment for bullying has everyone talking and commenting.

She made her teenage daughter stand on the side of the road holding a sign that said "I'm a disrespectful bully and I'm not sorry."

Thursday, 14-year-old Carlie Poole told her side of the story.

She said while she is not a bully, she admits what she did was wrong and said this would have been an effective punishment for a real bully.

For one whole hour, Poole stood at the entrance of her neighborhood the holding a sign. It was her mother's final attempt at teaching her daughter a lesson.

"If I'm going to be embarrassed by her actions, the only thing I can think to embarrass her by her peers with her actions," said her mother Gena Poole.

The teen even seemed to bully our cameraman during her punishment. Saying: "he's a waste of space, he needs to leave."

Twenty-four hours later, Poole was ready to talk about how she ended up on the side of the road.

She said it all started with a minor fight with her older sister. "She got me in trouble, so I threatened to get her in trouble but she got me out of it," said Carlie Poole.

The question is, did this punishment work?

Carli Poole said no because she's not a bully, but admited it might be effective for someone who is.

"I mean, if it's for someone who actually bullied, then yeah. It can put them out there, that they actually bullied, but she falsely put me out there, that's not ok."

In fact Carlie Poole said she knows bullying is wrong and disagrees with that type of behavior.

"I don't think bullying is right at all because it can affect someone in a way that you're not planning on affecting them," she said.

While she still said she's no bully, maybe her one hour of negative publicity wasn't a waste of time?

"I mean I learned what I did wasn't a nice thing to do, but that was it. I didn't learn anything else. There's nothing left to learn," she said.

She said she and her sisters actually get along really well and this was just a minor sibling fight.
