Emergency crews rescued a man after his leg was caught in a grain elevator near Bertrand. It happened Monday afternoon on Hwy. O north of Hwy. 62. Kadee Brosseau was on scene. We'll have the latest on Heartland News at 9 and 10.

Mt. Vernon School Board members will look at a redesign of the new high school Monday night. They have met with the architects each month since December to decide how to cut costs and get the project back on budget. Allison Twaits will be at the meeting. The man accused of the murder of a three-year-old Senath girl pleaded guilty Monday in court. Shawn Morgan pleaded guilty to the August 2011 kidnapping and murder of three-year-old Breeann Rodriquez, according to Dunklin County Prosecutor Stephen Sokoloff.

A man was arrested after Carbondale police say they saw two suspects beating up a person. Marion Hernandez, 27, was charged with mob action, aggravated battery and obstructing and resisting. He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.

Carbondale police responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress on March 8 at about 8:48 p.m. According to police an unknown suspect wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt walked into a business on the 1400 block of North Illinois Avenue with a handgun and demanded money before running south from the scene.

The New Madrid County Sheriff's Department has been investigating burglaries over the past several months in Lilbourn, Missouri. In two months, they say there were about 17 burglaries and thefts reported.
