SAN FRANCISCO (KRON/CNN) - A Google Glass user got a lot of unwelcome attention at a bar over the weekend. Now, she's speaking out.

"I literally ended up saying, ‘I can't believe this,' over and over again, the whole night. I just, was the only thing that could come out of my mouth, it was the weirdest event," Sarah Solcum said.

She was out with friends when they entered a bar in the Haight Ashbury area in San Francisco.

"We were there maybe 15 minutes, and two girls that were there started showing a lot of animosity toward me because I was wearing Google Glass," Solcum said. "I walked up to the bar, and they were shielding themselves and saying, ‘Oh, Google Glass,' kind of negative comments."

She continued, "They were trying to shield themselves as if I was recording them, and it wasn't on. I wasn't using it. They clearly didn't understand it. They didn't know how it worked."

The attention on her wearing Google Glass in this bar grew and got more vocal. Solcum's video also shows at one point a towel was thrown at the bar. At one point, someone reaches for her glasses.

"I'm glad that I can shed a light on that this is a great technology that can be used to prevent these types of incidents," she said. "And I hope this incident doesn't deter people from wearing Google Glass because 95 percent of the time, my experience is 180 degrees different."

Solcum said most are excited and curious. "I usually end up demonstrating it for them and letting them try them on," she said. "Whatever fear people might have about them usually diminish once people try them on."
