Eight cars were swallowed by a sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Wednesday morning, according to the museum's executive director. A statement released by the museum said their security company alerted them at 5:45 a.m. that motion detectors were going off in the Skydome area. Todd Tumminia talked to an avid Corvette collector from Cape Girardeau today with connections to the museum. Here from him tonight on Heartland News at 9 and 10.

In the wake of school shootings over the past year or so, many districts across the country are beefing up security measures. Jackson R-2 led the way by installing what's commonly referred to as panic buttons, but Mollie Lair visited one Jackson school that is taking that proactive measure a step further.

Funeral arrangements have been set for a mother and daughter who died after a house fire in Clarkton. According to Clarkton Police Chief Shawn Maddox, Stephanie Studie died Saturday, Feb. 8. Her daughter, 14-year-old Hannah Weingartner, died Friday.
