(CNN) - When the cold hits, many of us hit our computers to look for a new home.
The real estate website Trulia looked at the numbers and found in the cold months this year, there was a huge spike in home searches for warmer parts of the country.
With every 10 degrees the temperature dropped, home searches increased by 2.6 percent.
There was a 4.4 percent increase in searches for homes in warm parts of the country.
The top five: Miami, followed by Phoenix, Jacksonville, FL, Orange County, CA and Richmond, VA.
They also found twice the amount of searches for warm vacation spots.
