(WMC-TV) - Some Mid-South schools will be closed Friday due to predictions for extremely cold temperatures.

According to Action News 5 Meteorologist John Bryant, frigid conditions are forecast Thursday night with lows in the single digits to around 10 degrees.

Temperatures are predicted to be between 9 and 12 degrees between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Friday when children would likely be waiting for the bus.
