LOS ANGELES (Local pool/CNN) - A jury found two officers not guilty in the beating death of a homeless man.
Former officers Manuel Ramos and Jay Cicinelli were accused of causing the death of Kelly Thomas in a violent struggle in 2011.
The verdict was read in court Monday. Prosecutors argued that the beating of Thomas was unwarranted.
The defense said Thomas struggled with officers and died because of heart problems brought on in part by drug use.
