LAURENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies say a Laurens County man is accused of taking more than $150,000 from his former employer without permission, landing him in jail.

Laurens County deputies said Earl Alexander Jr., 50, worked for Central Supply Co. Inc. in Fountain Inn for more than 26 years and was the manager.

According to the deputy's report, the first owner passed away and his wife took over. After she passed, her daughter took over and discovered the missing money, according to deputies. The report said Alexander was fired on Nov. 8, 2013.

While at the company, deputies said Alexander used the company credit card to buy himself things worth a total of more than $53,000.

Deputies said Alexander also gave himself a pay increase in excess of $105,000 without permission.

Alexander was arrested on two counts of breach of trust with fraudulent intent. Deputies said their investigation is ongoing.
