STE. GENEVIEVE, MO (KFVS) -

The United States Attorney's Office announced Monday that a Ste. Genevieve County man was sentenced on felony child pornography charges.

Bryan Grass, 28, of Ste. Genevieve, Mo. was sentenced to nine years imprisonment on two felony charges of possession of child pornography. He appeared before the U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr., in Cape Girardeau. When he finishes that time, the attorney's office said he will be placed on supervised release for the remainder of his life.

A federal search warrant was executed at Grass' Ste. Genevieve Mo. home in July 2012. When officers arrived to execute the search warrant, Grass told them that he knew why the officers were there. As a result of the search, officers seized Grass' computer which contained images of child pornography. During an interview with law enforcement authorities, Grass admitted that he had been downloading child pornography for several years and that he had viewed thousands of images of child pornography in the past.

The United States Secret Service, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Department are commended for their efforts to jointly investigate this case. Assistant United States Attorney Abbie Crites-Leoni handled the prosecution for the government.
