STODDARD COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

The Stoddard County Shop with a Hero program helped 300 children have gifts for the holidays this year.

The event took place in three different stages at the Walmart in Dexter and featured firefighters, EMTs, parole officers and police officers.

Children were broken into groups of 100 and each child was given $75 to shop for their favorite toys.

Afterward, Santa was on hand to meet with children.

Every year, the program receives more than $22,000 donated from individuals, businesses and fundraisers.

The program is for children ages 3 to 10.
