Illinois State Police responded to semi vs. car crash on Interstate 64 Eastbound on Friday, December 13.

Around 6:24 p.m. police say Dante L. Langston, 34, of Junction City, Kan., was driving a 2007 silver Mercedes-Benz S550 eastbound on I-64 near mile post 107 when he tried to pass a Red Freightliner driven by 53-year-old Stanley E. Adams from Terrell, Texas.

Police say as Langston was passing the semi, he lost control of his car on the snow-covered road. The silver Mercedes-Benz rotated 90 degrees and entered the right lane of the road in front of the semi. They say the semi hit the passenger door of the car and pushed it off the road to the south.

Langston was taken to a hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. Police say both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

According to police, Langston was cited for driving too fast for conditions, no valid registration and improper use of registration.
