Suspect arrested in connection with Cape Girardeau KFC shooting

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A Cape Girardeau man was arrested in connection with a November 30 shooting at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Dennis L. Williams, 34, was arrested in Boone County Thursday night, Dec. 12 around 10 p.m. He was charged with two counts of felony assault first degree and felony armed criminal action with a $250,000 bond. He will be transported to Cape Girardeau County in the near future.

On Saturday, Nov. 30 at about 4:55 p.m., Cape Girardeau police responded to the KFC on William Street in reference to a shooting that had taken place. Police say a female had been shot in the leg while sitting in a vehicle. They say the suspect left in a black passenger car.

After an investigation, police say the suspect was identified and they got a warrant. With help from the Boone County Sheriff's Department, Columbia Police Department and the Mustang Drug Task Force, Williams was arrested.
