CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Another round of wintry weather is setting up for us just in time for the weekend. However, this time it will be a quick event and be over on Saturday morning.

There will be sleet and a little snow was falling across much of southeast Missouri and southern Illinois at 2:30 pm Friday.

Precipitation will be mainly rain across northeast Arkansas, the Missouri Bootheel, west Tennessee and most of western Kentucky.

North of a line from Ellington, Missouri to Perryville and in Illinois from Murphysboro on to Benton and McLeansboro, the rain and sleet is likely to change to snow late tonight.

Some locations could have accumulations of 1-3" especially from Farmington to Mt. Vernon.

The icing threat looks pretty low at this time. Winter Weather Advisories are posted through Saturday morning.

After that, the clouds will stick around through Saturday, but Sunday looks sunny, but cold with lows near 20 and highs in the low 30s.
