Fire burns trailer of husband, wife firefighters with 4 children

OLIVE BRANCH, IL (KFVS) -

Horseshoe Lake Fire Department responded to a fire Monday at one their own firefighter's home.

It happened on Greg Hollow Road in Olive Branch.

Chief Joshua McKee says one side of the trailer caught fire and the cause remains under investigation. For him, this fire hit close to home because it was family.

"That's part of our job," McKee said. "We get here and we do our job like we are supposed."

Crystal and Clinton Henderson, owners of the trailer, are both firefighters for the Horseshoe Lake Fire Department along with being related to McKee.

Chief McKee says no one was home at the time that includes the Henderson's four children but the contents of the home are a total loss.

"They are upset that their toys and everything is gone," Crystal Henderson said.

The husband is the assistant fire chief at Horseshoe Lake Fire Department. The wife is a firefighter with the department.

The fire is not considered suspicious.
