Redhawks capture Cure UCD Classic crown

(Puerto Vallarta, Mexico) - The Southeast Missouri State men's basketball team won three games in three days to claim the Cure UCD Classic championship this weekend in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, capped by an 82-74 win Sunday against Texas State.

The Redhawks improved to 6-2 on the season, their best start since their NCAA tournament season of 1999-2000.

Southeast junior Jarekious Bradley was named tournament MVP, leading the team with 20 points Sunday on his 23rd birthday.

All five Redhawk starters scored in double figures, as Lucas Nutt dropped 18 while Tyler Stone added 14. Southeast made went 8-of-13 from 3-point range, and shot 50 percent (33-for-66) from beyond the arc for the tournament.

The Redhawks return to the states to play at Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday.
