The United Way of Southeast Missouri says they will be posting from now through Tuesday, December 3 on their Facebook and Twitter pages about #GivingTuesday.
"We just want people to remember there are a lot of folks in our local communities that need help and without you they won't have a nice Christmas," said Nancy Jernigan, Executive Director of the United Way of Southeast Missouri. "We support more than 30 organizations and 50 programs and we can't do it without you."
Read to Succeed, The Salvation Army, and programs for health and senior services are among the many programs supported by the United Way.
Cape Jaycees are also among the organizations asking for your help on #GivingTuesday.
"We are working on our annual toy drive where it's basically our chance to be Santa," said Matt Hollis of the Cape Jaycees.
Jaycee Toybox will be asking for your help well into the month of December.
"Any donations will help us," said Hollis. "We are able to give to several hundred kids in our local community. The need just keeps growing."
