SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Police say two people were injured after a shooting overnight in Sikeston.

According to Sikeston DPS Captain Jim McMillian, a man shot two people inside the Eagle's Club in Sikeston early Saturday morning.

McMilllian says round 12:45 a.m., police responded to a call of gunshots fired at the Eagle's Club.

He says one man got angry after bumping into another man near the stage, then gunshots were fired, hitting one man in the back and in the arm. Another person was shot in the hand.

Police were already patrolling the area and got on the scene quickly to find people leaving the building.

Both victims were treated at area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. At this time, no suspects are in custody.

Employees of the Eagles Club in Sikeston say they are not part of the event where two people were shot. A bartender with the club said they rented out that space to a group who were supposed to have their own security.

The Eagles say they are a community driven organization which focuses on helping veterans and people the community. The Eagles Club wants to let the community know that their building and organization is safe and that the shooting that happened overnight was the first time that has happened and say that they will do everything they can from seeing it happen again.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call Sikeston DPS at 573-471-6200.
