MOUNDS, IL (KFVS) - Volunteers helped organize the Mounds Public Library on Saturday. Dozens of SIU student volunteers filled the library to reorganize the location of books and other items.
According to the Mounds Library Counsel, a lot of books were not in the right locations making it near impossible to find a book.
Due to lack of funds, the library was to close for reorganization efforts. That would mean months without a library and possibly lost grant money.
With the help of volunteers, the library will be organized using the Dewey Decimal System.
Library counsel leaders say that this will help the community better find books they need.
The library can use more donations to help eliminate a possible closure in the future, according to library counsel leaders.
