CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The 43rd annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Extravaganza was in Cape Girardeau bringing in over 6,000 people.
The two-day event features 300 vendors coming from several nearby states at the Show Me Center and the Osage Center selling handmade items.
Items included food, decorations, gifts, fine art and stocking stuffers.
Hosted by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, this event provides numerous programs throughout the year for the Cape Girardeau area.
One vendor said this event provides money to help pay her bills. She also says she gets to enjoy spending time with her family when making these items for the event.
Customers say it is unique items they can buy for their loved ones for Christmas and get ideas to make homemade items themselves.
Last year, there were 14,000 people that showed up for the two-day event.
This year organizers plan on meeting or exceeding 14,000 people and say every year this event is growing, according to Executive Director for the Arts Council of SEMO Murielle Gaither.
